Fast forward to new millennium and we see the pile of news channels, pushing content towards viewers just to get more TRP. They don’t care whether the news they are broadcasting is valid or being authenticated from concerned authorities. Media, especially Electronic, is trying to do only thing, To Win the WAR of EXCLUSIVE CONTENT. They just want to claim that they were the first one who brought this news towards you. And they get senseless don’t even care whether its a Bomb Blast news or any other terrorist activity. They don’t even care that by showing those images and dead people they are making all those who are watching a physicist. Now prime time is covered with Talk shows culture, where you don’t see a solution to any problem. One political party blame other and they blame other. And rather then moderating the forum and coming out with a solution at the end of the show, Anchor or Host just do the provoking job and we at home watching it, get more negative minded that if our politicians are like this, then what is going to happen with this country.
I believe its a job of Media to brand a country and to promote positivisms. Do we even know that Cricket World Cup is just a week away and PAKISTAN is a defending champion. But not a single TV channel or any media company promoting our team nor showing any campaign.
And yet they claim they haven’t got proper Freedom of Speech.
In the end i would like to share a video, which actually provoked me to write this post. Made by students of IoBM, Noman Minai and Ayesha Huda. Seriously a great work done by them.
Part 1.

Very nice article.
asalam o alikum!
really nice work both written and documented/filmed! love both as for my opinion i must say our media is at start of the race of becoming a proper media industry, we as a nation are going through a time when we don't really know our direction but yes we are trying to build a future for our selves as for direction i really would say we need to work hard on this.. as for our medias role, its ppl like u and me working in these channels so they r part of our own society reflecting our own society,
as i said our media is at start and it has a long - long way to go to achieve the role of leadership and guidance,
I don't quite agree!
there is something wrong with our country!
there is something wrong with the people!
and as long as we keep on denying it, it is never going to get better!
There is not point closing eyes and saying: "inshaAllah everything is going to be alright!"
@Faheem: Thanx mate
@Saad : We have to set our direction before we even start walking towards our destination. If there is no direction then u might get lost in the middle.
@Ali: Agree. We prefer to put things on Allah and think that HE will bless us. But we have to do our part and then wait for ALLAH's help in it.
This is so true. The media doesn't realize the responsibility it has and to what extent it shapes people's minds. I am a journalism student myself and we are taught good news are the ones which will make more money to the organization. Nobody cares about the people.
Great post! In marketing, one way to address an undesirable brand image is to launch ad campaigns that ask the audience to 'forget our previous image' - another way is to simply target a new audience. Surely, one can say that the audience of Pakistan's poor image is the entire world...but as marketers we understand that it's easier to persuade smaller, homogeneous groups than the entire population - perhaps this would be a good approach forward.

Media....
When this media of any sort such as newspaper, internet and especially TV comes in to our lives it acts as a mode of mind control.
We believe what ever they say. If its telling a lie or truth we believe them because this is the only way we are getting information about our country and other countries. Since media is already in our lives and we are depending on it for information such as news and politics etc.. We should also be fully aware and alert that not everything the media is portraying about the world, Pakistan and Muslims is the truth. Telling lies about a certain topic through the media can give anyone a bad image.
Last but not least. Since we rely on media in Pakistan and other countries and other people outside Pakistan relying on media from their countries, its up to the them to show us the reality and up to us to believe what is right and what is wrong.
