Typical Hypocrisy by Facebook

I was just waiting for it, an official response from Facebook after it got banned in Pakistan, thanx to ignorant attitude showed by Facebook’s officials for not removing a content from it site which is harming the feelings of Muslims all over the world. I was expecting that they will apologize for not being able to take action quickly and they will remove the page now, but hell no, they are actually defending it.
Facebook said in a statement to AFP, “We are analysing the situation and the legal considerations, and will take appropriate action, which may include making this content inaccessible to users in Pakistan,” – Like users in Pakistan doesn’t know how to access it. All those IT Geeks are sharing their knowledge on twitter, on how to bypass the proxy.
But the best part comes here. The statement from the Palo Alto, California-based social network said:
“we want Facebook to be a place where people can openly discuss issues and express their views, while respecting the rights and feelings of others. With now more than 400 million users from around the world… we sometimes find people discussing and posting about topics that others may find controversial, inaccurate, or offensive,” it said. “While some kinds of comments and content may be upsetting for someone – criticism of a certain culture, country, religion, lifestyle, or political ideology, for example – that alone is not a reason to remove the discussion,” it said. “We strongly believe that Facebook users have the freedom to express their opinions, and we don’t typically take down content, groups or pages that speak out against countries, religions, political entities, or ideas.”
As statement says, they don’t take down content just so easily, even though its targeting any religion or politics. But here i know lot of my friends, those suffered with getting their profile, groups or pages being removed without any prior notice and without any valid reason. Just an auto mail from Facebook saying you have violated the rules of targeting certain group, religion and country. And Facebook doesn’t even allow them to save their data, like pictures, videos, notes. They just have to start over everything. And here it goes, last one they says:
“Nazi content is illegal in some countries” but said “that does not mean it should be removed entirely from Facebook.” “Most companies approach this issue by preventing certain content from being shown to users in the countries where it is illegal and that is our approach as well,” it added.
So why don’t they do with the same thing for those profiles and groups. Why this rule is being followed now only. Aren’t they just being Hypocrite.

Thalassemia Free Pakistan

May 8 is celebrated all over the world as Thalassemia Day. And to create awareness in Pakistan about this disease, PYR-Karachi Chapter organised free blood screening camp at Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Care Center with the help of Thalassemia Free Pakistan. A site dedicated to create awareness and help Thalassematic patients in country. I would love to share this note posted on Facebook by Enlightening the Intellect. A marvelous piece of info.

What is Thalassemia?

Thalassemia is an inherited characteristic of the blood. It reduces the amount of hemoglobin in a human body, leading to anemia.

What is Anemia?

Deficiency or a lesser count of red blood cells, or too little hemoglobin in blood, is ‘Anemia’ - which simply means a shortage of blood. If the anemia is mild, it does no harm but if it is severe, the person becomes ill, as the tissues do not have sufficient oxygen.

There are two types of Thalassemic patients: ‘Major’ & ‘Minor’


What if you are Thalassemic Major?

If a person is “Thalassemia Major” patient then the person needs continuous blood transfusion. At present there are two treatments available for such patients:

1. Traditional Treatment
2. Bone marrow Transplant


What if you are Thalassemic Minor?

If one is “Thalassemia Minor” then there ISN’T anything to worry about, person may live his/her life to fullest.

The ONLY thing to keep in consideration is that a Thalassemic Minor MUST NOT marry another Thalassemic Minor because this match may result in the transfer of these Genes into the offspring. The chances of the offspring being Thalassemic are as follows:

• Thalassemic Major 50%
• Thalassemic Minor 25%
• Non-Thalassemic 25%


Treatment
Two different treatments are available at present, Traditional Treatment, and Bone-marrow Transplantation. The traditional treatment consists of three patterns:


Traditional Treatment

1. Blood Transfusion
Blood Transfusion is one of the most regularly practiced treatments for Thalassemia. To be precise, the treatment is not blood transfusion, but transfusion of red blood cells. These transfusions are necessary to provide the patient with a temporary supply of healthy red blood cells with normal hemoglobin capable of carrying the oxygen that the patient's body needs.

Today, most patients with a major form of Thalassemia receive red blood cell transfusions every two to three weeks. There are three reasons for blood transfusions.


a) To correct anemia and make sure that tissues get a normal amount of oxygen. This allows thalassemics to live and grow normally.

b) To let the bone marrow rest, so that the bones can develop normally and do not get deformed.

c) To slow down or prevent any increase in the size of spleen.


2. Splenectomy (Removing the Spleen)

When the spleen becomes too active and starts to destroy the red blood cell, transfusions become lesser and less effective. Then it may become necessary to take the spleen out through surgery. This operation is called "Splenectomy".

3. Desferal Treatment
Blood transfusions bring extra iron into the body and if transfusions are regular, iron gradually accumulates in the body. It is stored in certain organs, especially the liver, the heart, and the endocrine glands. The iron behaves like a foreign body, and in the end would damage the organs where it is deposited. Fortunately, there are drugs that help the drainage of iron out of the body. The medication used very regularly is Desferrioxamine, more commonly called ‘Desferal’. Desferal keeps the amount of iron under a safe level in a Thalassemic’s body.

Bone-marrow Transplantation
A Thalassemic's bone marrow is not able to make a normal amount of red blood cells. If the malfunctioning bone marrow can be replaced with a normal bone marrow, this problem is solved.

At present, only young people with a fully compatible donor can have a bone-marrow transplant. A transplant in Pakistan (Zia-ud-Din Hospital, Karachi) or India (Apollo Hospital, Chennai) costs the equivalent of $13,000 to $14,000 (Pak Rs. 9-10 Lakh). A transplant in any other country may vary in cost.

Last night we attended a tweetup party which included some high profile people from PYR (Pakistan Youth Revolution) and got some motivation to do something if not everything for Pakistan. We all have seen the campaigns run under PYR on social media and even we joined some groups as well but never felt motivated to write something about it or to participate in such meet up. But due to much involvement in social media such as Twitter, we decided to just give it a shot and see what this hype is all about and frankly speaking it was worth attending.
Their main campaign was Go Green, an initiative to turn everything into green online to promote Pakistan Independence day. And it got lot of popularity and even media coverage too.
Purpose of writing this post is to promote the resolution which we passed last night that no matter who we are, what we do and where we are. If we are Pakistani then we should promote Pakistan in positive way. If we are blogger then write good things about Pakistan, if we are willing to do more then should join rallies, and initiate projects related to positive image of Pakistan.
We have to find out what are we capable of and what are our skills and abilities. And based on that judgment we do our own work to bring positive attitude among our own selves.
Remember a small and first step will lead you to your destination.

During the last week  Aman Ittehad rally at Karachi Press club, saw a family who is protesting against the murder of their son by a brutal Feudal Lord. Mr. EJAZ MALIK from Shirkat Gah, understand the local and domestic issues of Interior Sindh.

He met the people of the Area & according to his investigations, the bottom line remains that Dur Mohammad Aradeen was
kidnapped, brutally tortured and killed Dur Muhammad Aradeen & dumping his body stray.. while some of the murderers are moving free to terrorize other Family`s Associates of Late Dur Muhammad Aradeen & local population (Baradari People).

Its heartening to know 5-Adults & 2-Kids feeding on 5-Nan and 1-Daal Plate. Some kind-hearted members of our Team stepped-up to help them in PRESS-CLUB Camp.They delivered Ration, which includes rice, ata, oil, tea, sugar, and a masala box (Un-Cooked).

We need biscuits, Chips, Nimko & Fruits. We also need to provide them mosquito coils. We urgently need to arrange a Gas Cooking Stove for them. We need atleast 2000 Calories/ Adult Person & 1000 Calories/ Kid, to keep them fit & healthy. Plus we need a Doctor attendant to check them weekly.

We also need Old Clothes for Women/ Men & Children (Kindly look in to the pictures & estimate if your old-clothes matches
them).

We need legal guidance in this regard & its our Plea to Legal fraternity to help us in this Cause to give Justice to Late Dur Muhammad Aradeen`s Family.

ANTI TERRORIST COURT ATC KHAIRPUR, hearing. Aslam Muhammad Aradeen Brother of Deceased Dar Muhammad Aradeen went to court with their LAWYER & some Eye witness.

But the Lawyer for some reason, didn`t give statements of Witnesses.. There are 3 Witnesses to the Kidnaping of Dar Muhammad Aradeen.

But the Respondent PIR BUX GAHOO and his Allies are still absent from Court.

We have called for ATC READER Copy & We hope we will receive the Copy of COURT Hearing by Tommorrow Morning through Fax.

US getting tougher on his Ally

U.S Authorities are implementing some tougher rules for screening of passengers arriving from those countries which are linked with terrorists.  And we, Pakistanis their ally on WAR ON TERROR are part of that list, which includes countries such as Nigeria, Syria, Iran, Sudan, Yemen and Cuba.  
Security forces will be allowed to Pat-down body search and even they are allowed to search passengers' carry-on baggage. 

President Barack Obama condemned lapses following the alleged Christmas Day bomb plot against a US plane. He promised "to act quickly to fix flaws" in the security system.

The new security directives will come into effect on Monday.

Israel-India joint venture

As i mentioned in my previous post that RAMA ( Afghan intelligence agency) is brain child of Israel, America and India. But it seems they can't just get enough of these and they come out with one more. Indian-Israel Intelligence or known as Triple I has been established which is working alongside RAMA with the support from America ( the great Democratic Supporting Country) to destabilize Pakistan. Triple I is working with Rama to train Suicide bombers, providing weapons and assigning the targets. Claims in the local newspaper has been made that current series of attacks has been made by this joint venture to destabilize Pakistan internally and thus can take control of this region, against Iran and China. Triple has taken highly trained personals from RAW (Indian Intelligence Agency) and Mossad (Israel's Intelligence Agency) who knows their main targets in Pakistan very well. Their primary objective is to target Security headquarters, Multinational companies, communications system and Public places.

on 23rd December 2008, a newspaper in India confessed that Mumbai blasts on 26th November was planned by this venture. So that Pakistan can be labelled as terrorist country and can be left alone internationally.

Same newspaper further claims that if Triple I doesn't achieve their target in Southern Waziristan then they might have to plan another deadly attack on India, which has been already mentioned by Interior minister of India, P.K. Chidambaram that he has some intelligence reports of another attack from neighbor country.

How can we stand against these threats? When our own government is been distracted by another issues internally.
Can we the people create the awareness?

Peshawar Blast: Plotted by RAMA?

A deadly blast in the busy street of Peshawar city killed 118 People. Few hundreds are still injured. And as usual government is blaming Taliban for it. But after a denial message by Hakimullah Mehsood, Tehreek-e-Taliban Leader, don't you think we should be looking at other angles. Taliban has always been claiming that they only target Government institutes or a shelter places of Army and Police. But Islamic University, Islamabad and Peshawar attack was certainly not on their agenda.
We all know that Blackwater is still operating in Pakistan, although they have changed their name to XE Corp and Dyncorp. Their main objective is to provide security for American Embassy and their missions. But at the background it has been proved on Pakistani Media that, they are being involved in such activities aims to destabilize Pakistani government.
Now lets get back to Peshawar Blast, if it is not Taliban's job then some one is involved and that has been exposed by spies of RAW(Indian Intelligence), seized in Lahore by Police.  They have given the name of RAMA.

RAMA was founded 8 months ago in Afghanistan and works closely with American CIA, Indian RAW, Israel's Mossad, and British MI-6. Its head office is in Jail Siraj, Afghanistan. RAMA (Research and Analysis Mili Afghanistan) has recruited KHAD professionals trained by Soviet KGB who were heavily involved with terrorist activities in Pakistan in late 80s.  A local newspaper claims that Indian Intelligence Agency, RAW is providing every kind of help from their 17 centers which are already operating in Afghanistan. These spies have further mentioned that all anti-Pakistan groups working in Pakistan are being funded by RAW and CIA through RAMA, and they are being assigned to target public places to create havoc and therefore easing the way for American and Indian forces to roll in.

These claims was further endorsed by Ex-ISI chief  Gen (R) Hamid Gul. He mentioned that in 1987 RAW and KHAD under the supervision of KGB plotted a series of terrorist attacks but unfortunately only 10% of that could work out, which killed around 3,000 innocent people. While interviewing to the local channel , he said that America normally doesn't involve himself in this kind of things. He has always been and will use others to do so. India, America and Israel has united themselves in Afghanistan to get hold of this region and now they are shifting Afghan war to the tribal areas of Pakistan.

2 days before Karachi police and CID seized some terrorist group and they found Indian RDX from them, which truly endorse my view that foreign forces are involved in this current situation.

Sultan Rahi is back

Was reading today's newspaper and saw this news about our very famous politician cum actor, warning to the feudal lords of Punjab province in Sultan Rahi style (The great Punjabi action movies actor), saying: " O Jaageerdara , Saaday naal Mutha na layin " means , "O! Feudal Lord, don't you try to stop me"
I was laughing when i read this and went to youtube to look for video and his action was much funnier then his words.
By now you might have recognized him, he is none other then, the Great Altaf Hussain a.k.a Sultan Rahi. He is quite famous for his way of speaking, the way he dances with his head while delivering speeches. In the same speech he further mentioned to the feudal lords that " give me your measurement and i'll prepare the sacks." Now those who knows this party very well, they are quite familiar with their working style. Before the military operation in 1992, people of karachi found dead bodies in the sacks along the road sides or somewhere in the bushes. Which clearly means that, this party is planning to bring the same " Bori Culture" in punjab as well. And it is nothing less then a threat to those who are putting hurdles in their way.



And according to a local news paper, MQM officials have ordered their workers to collect around 5 millions rupees from karachi, so that they can fund Punjab convention. Its been believed that MQM want to stable themselves in Punjab in order to get rid of " Party of One city" statement.

Blackwater, a real threat

Blackwater or now known as "Xe worldwide" is a private military company, also work as security contractor to the United States Federal Government. We know them from their involvement in the killing of innocents people in Iraq, for which they have been charged as well. I am not here to talk about their history or about their past involvements, because we all know about it and you can find enough material on it through internet.

The purpose of writing this blog is to highlight the involvement of Blackwater in Pakistan. By the time of posting this blog, they have already established their network in Pakistan, mainly in Islamabad. US. embassy have recruited them as their private guards. And for that they have changed their name from Blackwater to Xe worldwide. To verify the link between Xe worldwide and Blackwater, i went to Google and typed " Blackwater", it showed me a website called "Blackwaterusa.com" which was redirected to "ustraining.com". From this i thought Xe worldwide has nothing to do with blackwater. But then i clicked career button on the home page and it redirected me to the website of Xe worldwide (www.xecompany.com) and to make things certain for me, the content on the main page of this website is the same as on the US training center, which was redirected from Blackwater home page.

According to news reports ( i am not talking about those media channels, who sees no commercial benefit in highlighting this issue), there are Xe worldwide's guards (blackwater) walking on the streets of Islamabad with their personal arms and threatening people. There have been 3 cases being reported (one of it was involving S.H.O of the police)but thanx to our pro-american government, no action has been taken.

But the worst thing is that our media, who claimed to be independent and loyal to their cause of free and fair reporting has not raised any significant voice over it or conducted any debate. On the other hand our politicians are too busy in digging the old grave of 1992 military action against MQM. Whole media and news paper was overflowed with this topic and now The Great Altaf Hussain has lit another torch by provoking everyone that Qadianis should be considered as Muslims and their holy places should be called Mosques. Now our media got another topic to talk about.

But from my point of view, isn't it all being done to put the main issue behind. To redirect the mind of everyone. As per newspapers and my Google research, few Americans (which are for sure blackwater people, because USA govt. has warned their citizens not to travel to Pakistan due to security concerned) has bought houses in Islamabad and the talking point is that 2 of those houses are near our National Hero (DR. A.Q.Khan). And every one knows that America is after him and they have been demanding Pakistan govt. to hand over him to USA.

I am not from that group of people who are shouting every Friday " Go America Go" . I am here to raise the voice regarding the sovereignty of an independent and democratic nation. And for sure i don't want to be part of  a country which is being colonized by american forces like some middle eastern nations mainly Saudi Arab.

9/11. Not just about World Trade Center

11 September a day to remember for everyone, especially for us, the Pakistanis, because this was day when every news channel on this planet turned their cameras on us and put us on the focus. If you go around the street and ask any person regardless of their age and class, that what happened on 11th September? The first answer you gonna hear is " Oh that world trade center thing". But is that what happened actually on that day? Nope, don't worry i am not here to give my points about the authenticity of the incident or to argue about the involvement of someone else but Al-Qaeeda.
My point is that being a nation, an independent one (although in many cases we are not) should we forget our founder, who brought freedom to us. 11 September, when our Father of the Nation, Quaid-e-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Died. But how many of us actually remembered it? We do celebrate 14th August, when we got independence. But do we mourns on the day of his death? I saw a tv channel was showing live telecast of the ceremony from the Ground Zero (Where world trade center used to be) and Pentagon, but that channel didn't run a single documentary about Quaid-e-Azam or any news related to it. Newspapers were filled with the political news and abuses, accidents, crimes and gang wars. I saw other day, a local newspaper, published a supplement to mark the 1 year of President Asif Ali zardari. But they didn't reserved half of their page to mentioned the loss of nation, it suffered after Jinnah death.

Does he really deserve this all? Don't we have a single patriotic in the whole country? We give, bribe, money, gifts and other incentives to please some one in power, in order to get promotion or illegal help. But can't we help him, whose grandfather actually helped us. Can't we just repay for all the things Jinnah did.
